Treatment Two!

Thursday, Dulce came over to help me out, to get ready for the second treatment for bed bugs.  Which was a huge blessing!  I was able to have Don watch the girls, so Dulce and I could get more done.  I've found one dead one and a four live ones since the last treatment.  I had the tech, spray more areas, since it didn't get done the first time.  It would be nice to find more dead ones.  Hopefully after this treatment!  At least we don't receive many bites.  I always heard my parents say, "Goodnight sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite."  Didn't realize that there was more to the poem.  I also didn't realize that they were real bugs!

Goodnight
Sleep tight
Don't let the bed bugs bite
If they do
Hit them with your shoe
Until they are black and blue

Or there is this poem!

Good night
Sleep tight
Don't let the bed bugs bite
If they do
Let them chew
Because they need to eat too

Besides the bed bugs, some other bugs started to show up.  From what I can tell online, they are carpet beetles.  They are not annoying like the bed bugs, but it seems like they are affected by the chemicals they sprayed.  I've only found them on the floor and in my sock drawer.  So we took the clothes out of all the dressers so they could spray.

The girls enjoyed spending time with Don.  He gave them really cool tee shirts from his Soul Winners T Shirt witnessing ministry.  I lost my cable to download pictures from my camera, so hopefully I can find it soon to be able to post photos.  Thank you Don!

Friday night we got to enjoy a date!  Sandy, came over to watch the girls for us.  We went out to dinner at Applebees.  Out of all the places here in Salt Lake, we ran into Jerry, who we met when Steven was receiving cancer treatment.  I was able to talk with him quite a bit, when Steven was sleeping. They had opened up his chest to remove the tumor on his lung and found it was to far spread to remove, so they closed his chest up and told him that he would have to receive chemo.  He had to come all the way from Rock Springs, Wyoming to receive treatment for lung cancer.  We asked how he was doing and he said that they just got done with all there appointments this week.  They found out from the PET & CT scan that the cancer is gone.  Praise God!

Please keep him in your prayers, as he continues to recover!  What a joy to eat dinner with my wonderful man, but then to see and hear from someone that we never thought we'd see again.  Oh, God that was wonderful news that we got to hear tonight!  Thank you for using Sandy, to make it happen!

Steven, still has the blood clot and will have an appointment this next week to check his blood and then another appointment to meet with his surgeon.  I don't really know the purpose of the visit, but it sounds like he will meet with him to ask questions.  His blood clot is still there as far as we can tell, because of the swelling in his leg and foot.  His hands and feet can become numb and yesterday had almost like electrical shooting pains go up his legs.  For some reason it seems like the numbness is becoming worse.  He is still been dealing with the ringing in the ears, since the chemo treatment.  His memory has also seem like it has been affected.  Please continue to pray that these side affects would go away!

Never thought we would trade chemo treatments for bed bug treatments!  God has a plan in all of this and am enjoying watching Him work!  God thank you for the many blessings you bestow on us, help us to be a blessing to others!  Continue to also keep our friend Debbie in your prayers, as she continues to recover from surgery and then receives more chemo.  Keep the Kugler family in prayer as Jonas finished up his radiation treatment.  Also, the Boyd family in prayer that has also been affected by cancer.

I found this poem at the Huntsman Cancer Institute while we were there for the last appointment in June.  If you know someone who is dealing with cancer, pass it on to them.

Cancer is So Limited

It cannot cripple LOVE
It cannot shatter HOPE
It cannot corrode FAITH
It cannot destroy CONFIDENCE
It cannot kill FRIENDSHIP
It cannot shut out MEMORIES
It cannot silence COURAGE
It cannot invade the SOUL
It cannot destroy PEACE
It cannot quench the SPIRIT
It cannot lessen the POWER OF THE RESURRECTION

IT CANNOT STEAL ETERNAL LIFE!

Our greatest enemy is not disease, but despair. Keep trusting God's
love so your spirit will remain strong. If cancer has invaded your
life, refuse to let it touch your Spirit. Your body can be severely
afflicted and you have great struggle, but if you keep trusting in
God's love, Your Spirit will remain strong!
