Day 3

Steven still hasn't had any side effects, praise God!  So he hasn't had to use any of the several medications they prescribed for him.  Looking through them and the side effects each of them have, I'm praying that he won't need to use them.  What is more harmful the side effects or the side effects that you get with each of the prescriptions you receive.  He is experiencing some tiredness.

In the past three days he has gained 11 lbs. of water weight, because beside the drugs they are putting into his body they are also giving him something for hydration through his IV.  He also has weird tastes in his mouth and his smelling is more enhanced.  He has been eating great, which will help to relieve any nausea that he may have, but they have also prescribed four different nausea medications.

It has been hard on him, while sitting or laying for 4 1/2 hours.  There is boredom and then everything is open, so you can't have quiet even when he wants to take a nap.  People's talking, their IVs beeping often.  Who wants to be hooked up to an IV.  Today, we had a man across from us that would cry every so often.  Yesterday, Steven was sitting next to Wendy, who has tried all kinds of ways to get rid of the cancer.  Nothing is working for her, please keep her in your prayers!

He has two more treatments this week and then he is off for two weeks, when the side effects will really start to surface.  Praying that he doesn't have any on the two weeks that he is planning on working.
